Meeting at Curtin University’s HIVE

Our next meeting is at Curtin’s HIVE, the Hub for Immersive Visualisation and eResearch, which opened in November last year. The HIVE has four large-scale visualisation systems, backed by high-end processing systems. Come and experience the Tiled Display, the Cylinder, the Wedge, and the Dome in action. You can read more about it on their web site.

There will be three presenters covering topics such as: integrated operations – immersing staff in real-time data; 3D reconstruction on the Sydney Kormoran project; and visualising geophysical data sets. The centre’s manager Andrew Woods will give a brief overview of the facilities and how you can take advantage of them, and there will be rolling shows of some of the visualisation capabilities.
